Kate Blakinger

Kate Blakinger’s short stories appear in Alaska Quarterly Review, Epiphany,The Gettysburg Review, The Iowa Review, and New Stories from the Midwest. She holds an MFA from the Helen Zell Writers’ Program at the University of Michigan, where she was awarded the Meijer Postgraduate Fellowship. Her writing has also received support from the Elizabeth George Foundation, Jentel, MacDowell, and Penn State Altoona. She has worked in academic publishing, taught writing, and she recently held elected office at the grassroots level. She lives in Philadelphia with her family.
